GOVERNMENT UNION REFORM LAW
DO YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS?
Are you a member of a government union?
Did you know the law has changed giving you NEW rights?
Now you have a voice and a vote in your government union!
UNDERSTAND YOUR NEW RIGHTS
1.) The law strengthens your voice and the power of government union members like you by requiring recertification elections every three years. You will have the option to renew current representation, choose new representation or choose to have no exclusive representation. [105.575]
2.) You, and all Missouri taxpayers, will now have greater access to the collective bargaining process that takes place between unions and governmental bodies. [105.583]
3.) Government unions will now be required to disclose the same financial information as unions representing workers in the private sector. This information will be available to all union members so you can see how your union spends your dues. [105.533]
4.) The new law includes clear time limits on labor agreements which will protect taxpayers from having to fund unsustainable agreements with government unions. [105.580]
